The new RNLI lifeboats are truly a marvel of engineering. If you ever get the chance to see them in action, whether during a rescue mission or a training exercise, it’s an experience you won’t forget.
It’s incredible to think that all the crew members are volunteers, giving their time and skills to save lives at sea. When a new lifeboat is launched, there’s a special opportunity to have the name of a loved one engraved on the side of the boat. This is a touching way to honour someone special and support the vital work of the RNLI.
For Christians, a lifeboat can serve as a powerful reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Just as lifeboats save people from the dangers of the sea, Jesus came to save us from sin and its
consequences. The Bible even says that our names are written on His hands, a beautiful symbol of His love and care for us. Seeing the name of a loved one on a lifeboat is special, but knowing this truth is even more precious.
