The gift of Christmas

In all the hustle and bustle of December, the shopping, the planning, the celebrations, this question often comes up: What is the real meaning of Christmas? For some, it’s a time of nostalgia, filled with warm memories of childhood and tradition. For others, it’s about giving, family, and togetherness. Many simply enjoy the chance to slow down, rest, and relax.

But at the heart of it all, the real meaning of Christmas is found in one word: Christ. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, and that Jesus is God. In Matthew 1:23 we read: they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

That’s the true miracle of Christmas: God with us. Not distant or unreachable, but present, personal, and full of love. Christmas is remembering that gift, the arrival of hope, peace, and salvation in the
person of Jesus Christ.
